Let him work in peace
With a title like “ I’m still working ”, the tone is set. Eric Barone wants to send the message that he continues to work on Haunted Chocolatierand if he recognizes that the game was announced early, he still wants to dot the i’s regarding the progress of the project. In particular by indicating that, no, this new game will not be abandoned in favor of other updates of Stardew Valley :
“ No. Firstly, I will not give up on Haunted Chocolatier. But even if I did, I wouldn’t add it to Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley and Haunted Chocolatier are two separate games. From a technical standpoint, this makes no sense, as Haunted Chocolatier has been completely rewritten; its game engine is different from that of Stardew Valley. You can’t just copy and paste Haunted Chocolatier into Stardew Valley. »
He also refutes the idea that recent updates of Stardew Valley are disguised tests for his next game, and indicates that he continues to work on his previous title because he still has ideas for this one and that the community of Stardew Valley just keeps growing. And to put an end to the cancellation rumors, he replies:
“ In short, the most important thing is that I continue to make progress on the game and release it. So I’m getting back to it right away. […] I’m alive, the game is still in development and it will be released when it’s ready. Thank you for your patience. »
Patience is indeed required, and if Haunted Chocolatier can reach the ankle of Stardew Valleythe wait will have been worth it.
