The pace does not slow down. On March 18, 2026, Microsoft is adding two new titles to its Xbox Game Pass Premium offering, a subscription that has continued to expand since the start of the year. These new entries bring to 36 the number of games included in the catalog since January.
In detail, the games South of Midnight and The Alters are joining the Premium library today. Two recent titles, already noted for their good reviews and their solid evaluations among players.
South of Midnight and The Alters, two highly anticipated games on Game Pass
The first to attract attention is South of Midnight, an action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games. The universe is inspired by gothic folklore from the South of the United States and follows the character of Hazel on a hunt for creatures from myths.
The game shows solid performance. On OpenCritic, it has an average score of 77 with a 68% recommendation rating. On the player side, the feedback remains consistent with a rating of 80 and “Very positive” reviews on Steam, as well as an average of 4.4 stars on the Xbox Store.
Alongside it, The Alters offers a very different experience. Developed by 11 Bit Studios, the game puts the player in the shoes of a space miner stuck on a hostile planet. His particularity is based on the creation of alternative versions of himself to survive. This original concept is widely appealing. The game averaged 86 on OpenCritic with a 95% recommendation rating, confirming its excellent reception.
A clear strategy to strengthen Xbox Game Pass Premium
Microsoft maintains a brisk pace. After 16 games added in January and 10 in February, March continues on the same path with these new integrations. In 2025, the Premium service had already hosted 165 games. A figure which shows the group’s ambition: to make Game Pass an essential subscription.
These recent additions are part of a well-established logic. Mixing in-house productions like South of Midnight with popular third-party titles helps attract different player profiles.
How long will these games remain available on Game Pass?
A question often comes up among subscribers: will these games last for a long time? In the case of The Alters, the answer remains uncertain. The title joined Game Pass Ultimate upon its release in June 2025. However, third-party games generally remain in the catalog for around 12 months. This means that a withdrawal as early as June 2026 remains possible, even if nothing is officially confirmed yet.
The next games expected on Xbox Game Pass in March 2026
The release schedule doesn’t stop there. Several games have already been announced in the coming days:
- Disco Elysium – March 19
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – March 24
- Absolute – March 25
- The Long Dark – March 30
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – March 31
This dense program shows that Microsoft continues to regularly update its service, with a mixture of recognized classics and more recent titles.
