The transition to survival horror takes time
Since the end of the year is getting closer, it was difficult to see The Sinking City 2 find a niche in the few remaining weeks of 2025. Frogwares has therefore made the decision to postpone its game, which should be released during the first half of 2026. He explains that the Russian invasion in Ukraine necessarily impacts the studio, which therefore needs a little more time to complete this project:
“ While we haven’t given a specific release date, we know many of you have been waiting for a 2025 release – and so are we. However, ongoing challenges related to the war in Ukraine, including frequent drone and missile attacks, power outages and the need to constantly adapt to unstable conditions, have impacted our pace of development. Rather than rushing to achieve a goal that no longer makes sense, we are taking the time necessary to complete the game properly and will let you know a new date as soon as we are sure. »
Frogwares also explains that this delay will allow the experience to be refined, and these additional months will not be too much given that the studio presents The Sinking City 2 as his first real survival horror. To keep us waiting, some images of the game have been released.
The Sinking City 2 is planned for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
