Steam welcomes a gigantic free RPG to explore alone or with friends

Since October 9, 2025, Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is officially available for free on Steam for PC. The game presents itself as a lively open world where players can create their hero, explore, cooperate on raids or simply enjoy gentler activities online.

The game team invites players to “Fish by the rivers, dance at the town fair, set off fireworks at night or even share memes in the guild chat: don’t forget to have fun with your friends, because Regnus shines brighter when shared.” »

Gameplay: a mix of action, exploration and freedom

In the game universe, called Magna, players will be able to mine rare crystals, gather mystical herbs or come across monsters in wild areas. The classic roles are offered: tank, healer or DPS, but everyone can change roles at any time, to avoid being limited by their initial choice.

Cooperative raids occupy a central place: eliminating monsters as a team allows you to win prestigious rewards. But the game isn’t all about combat: fishing, festive dances, fireworks or guild chats add a relaxed social dimension to the experience.

This hybrid approach reminds us that the MMORPG should not only be a battlefield, but also a place of shared virtual life.

Free… but with conditions

The game is free to download and can be kept for life. However, microtransactions are present. The system is based on two types of currencies, one of which can be purchased with real money, and certain features such as cosmetic items or progression items may involve gacha-type mechanics.

On the feedback side, the community is divided. Some players welcome the atmosphere and the freedom of action, while others point out an imbalance or too much reliance on in-app purchases.

Timeline and cross-platform compatibility

The game first underwent a closed beta phase in the West, before its full release on October 9, 2025. Designed to be cross-platform, it allows PC and mobile players (iOS and Android) to share the same servers, fostering a unified community from launch.
