Good news for PC gamers looking for new experiences without spending a dime. At the beginning of March 2026, Steam has just seen the arrival of a new wave of completely free games. Several independent developers have published their titles on Valve’s platform, and they can be added permanently to your library.
This new distribution comes just after the end of the Steam Next Fest, which ended on March 2. While the event was dedicated to demos, several studios took advantage of this period to launch their full games for free.
Novel Haven, the free surprise that is already attracting players
Among the new features available, one title particularly attracts attention. Novel Haven is a pixel art indie game where you transform an abandoned lighthouse into a seaside bookstore.
The game, developed by SkyCat Games in collaboration with author Anabelle Stehl, offers a leisurely narrative experience. Players must organize their store, help the inhabitants of the village and manage the book shelves.
Despite its small size, the title has already received a very positive reception on Steam. Its page boasts a 100% positive review score, a rare result for a new release. The experience is intended to be short and accessible, with a warm universe and a simple artistic style.
