On the official X account of »Sound! Euphonium” (Japanese: “Hibike! Euphonium”), new details about the premiere of the upcoming film were announced today. There is also a new teaser, which you can find below.
Cinema release in April 2026
The evening filler with the title »Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movie, Part 1” opens in Japanese cinemas on April 24, 2026. Since the film was explicitly announced as the first part, it can be concluded that at least one sequel will follow – but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Kyoto Animation studio is responsible for the production, with Taichi Ogawa (Assistant Director on “Sound! Euphonium 3”) directing and Jukki Hanada (“Medalist”) writing the script. Shoko Ikeda and Kazumi Ikeda (“Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions”) contribute the character design.
The main roles of the Japanese voice cast again include Tomoyo Kurosawa (Nobuko Takada in “Jujutsu Kaisen”) as Kumiko Oumae and Chika Anzai (Chisa Kotegawa in “Grand Blue Dreaming”) as Reina Kousaka.
»Sound! Euphonium« so far consists of a total of three series seasons, two recap films, a spin-off film and a sequel film. Crunchyroll has the series in its original language with German subtitles, while the spin-off film “Liz and the Blue Bird” is available on DVD and Blu-ray from LEONINE Anime.
