Silent Hill 2 Remake is available on Xbox Series X|S, with a big promotion and an exclusive pack

Fans have been hoping for this for months, and the rumors were rife. This time, there is no need to scan online stores for a clue: Silent Hill 2 Remake is officially released on Xbox Series

Developed by Bloober Team in collaboration with Konami, the remake of the 2001 masterpiece modernizes the psychological horror experience with reworked artistic direction and revised gameplay mechanics. And for its arrival on Xbox, it offers a half-price launch.

An unexpected Xbox release and an immediate discount

The announcement was not preceded by any trailer, teaser or official statement. The game appeared directly on the Microsoft Store, available for download in its full version. Its standard edition, usually sold at $69.99, is offered at $34.99 for a limited time.

A second pack, which brings together Silent Hill 2 Remake And Silent Hillis also available for $79.99. This bundled offer is undoubtedly aimed at reviving interest in the franchise as a whole, at a time when the saga is trying to regain a place of choice on the video game horror scene.

James Sutherland’s chilling return to the foggy city

In this remake, players once again take on the role of James Sutherland, a man haunted by the death of his wife. After receiving a disturbing letter signed by him, he sets out to find her in the town of Silent Hill, where the mist hides more than just deserted streets.

The game, praised for its oppressive atmosphere and its fidelity to the original scenario, retains most of the 2001 plot while modernizing the experience. Careful graphics, immersive sound direction and revised gameplay contribute to a reinterpretation which has already won over critics and players on PlayStation 5 and PC during its initial release in 2024.

And the “Born from a Wish” DLC in all this?

One of the most anticipated contents by fans has still not been confirmed: the DLC Born from a Wishcentered on the character of Maria. Present in the Extended version of the original game, this segment remains absent from the remake to this day. The release on Xbox revives hopes of seeing it reinstated soon, by popular demand.

In addition, Bloober Team is also working on a remake of the very first silent Hill. This project, already announced, suggests a strategy for the gradual revitalization of the franchise. In the meantime, the Xbox version of Silent Hill 2 Remake should satisfy a large part of the players who have remained on the sidelines until now.
