Resident Evil: Requiem reveals its new gameplay during the Showcase this January 15

Less than two months from its official release, Resident Evil: Requiem returns to the forefront with a special event organized by Capcom. Scheduled for Thursday January 15, 2026, this Resident Evil Showcase should allow fans to finally obtain answers to their many questions.

The meeting is set for 10 p.m. (French time) and promises exclusive revelations, including new gameplay sequences which will fuel speculation. Capcom is also planning a live discussion on its YouTube channel, just to keep the excitement going.

An open world for Resident Evil?

Since Nvidia released a teaser earlier this month, speculation surrounding the existence of an open world in Resident Evil: Requiem continue to swell. The short video showed a lively city, far from the closed and distressing environments that made the saga famous.

Pedestrians, cars, natural light… some see this as a radical change in the series’ approach. If this scene is not simply a scripted cutscene, then Capcom may be preparing to revolutionize the structure of its flagship license.

Leon’s return, but at what cost?

Leon S. Kennedy is well confirmed in this episode. However, several details intrigue fans: a strange symbol visible on his neck, similar to a bite, is already fueling theories. Could he be infected? Will we witness a gradual transformation or an unexpected twist?

Additionally, the iconic weapon visible in the promotional visuals — which Leon passes to another character, Grace — seems to be of paramount importance. Game director Koshi Nakanishi has already hinted that this item will play a key role in how the plot unfolds.

Other mythical figures at the meeting?

While Leon seems to be taking the lead role, several rumors point to the arrival of familiar faces. A leak on the GameStop site recently suggested that Rosemary Winterswell known to fans of Resident Evil Village, could appear in Requiem.

If this is confirmed, it would mark Capcom’s desire to unify the different timelines of the series, by linking the events of past and recent sagas. This narrative choice could breathe new life into a series already rich in twists and turns.

An event not to be missed for fans

THE Resident Evil Showcase This January 15 promises to be a decisive moment for Capcom and its community. Between confirmations, surprises and new gameplay, this event should give a serious boost to the promotion of Resident Evil: Requiemscheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
