No need for a PlayStation Plus subscription this time. Since March 2, 2026, two new games have been available for free on PlayStation 5, accessible to all players without any paid subscription. Sony doesn’t flood the PlayStation Store with demos as regularly as Steam, but recent additions still make it possible to test new experiences without spending a dime. This week, a crazy action roguelike and a transportation simulator join the list.
Operation Candy Land, a sweet and chaotic roguelike
The first title is aimed at fans of nervous action. Developed by Mad Hook, Operation Candy Land immerses players in a colorful world where “wild gummy bears, angry lollipops, and sneaky marshmallows are everywhere.” The principle is simple but intense. The developers describe the gameplay as: “Run, shoot, and build crazy towers to survive waves of candy monsters. Fast, absurd, chaotic, and way harder than it looks!”
Each part is different thanks to a procedural generation of enemies, improvements and bosses. The team also specifies: “Lose, progress and come back stronger: this colorful world hides a major challenge.” No definitive release date has yet been communicated for the full game, but this demo already allows you to discover the main mechanics.
Mega Carrier Simulator, for heavy driving enthusiasts
Total change of atmosphere with Mega Carrier Simulator, published by Yash Future Tech Solutions. There are no explosive candies or waves of enemies here. Players get behind the wheel of heavy transport vehicles to transport goods over “difficult routes”.
The game requires precision and mastery. You have to balance massive loads and adapt to varied environments. The stated objective is to “conquer realistic terrain while upgrading your fleet to become the ultimate mega transporter”. The demo allows you to explore two of the twelve environments available in the full version, already available on the PlayStation Store.
Other popular demos on the PlayStation Store
These two titles are just the most recent additions. The PlayStation Store regularly offers particularly downloaded demos. Some of the most popular ones include Reanimal, Darwin’s Paradox, Nioh 3, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Planet of Lana II and Mina the Hollower.
These trial versions often offer several hours of play and allow you to evaluate a title before purchase, without financial commitment. For PS5 players, these new additions provide an easy way to discover varied experiences, whether for a quick session or to test a future purchase.
