Playable on PS4 and PS5 compatible, this single-player (and online multiplayer) FPS constitutes a centerpiece of the Sony catalog, although it is often forgotten since the emergence of Horizon Zero Dawn, another production from the Guerrilla studio.
A dense universe and a unique atmosphere to rediscover
The story of Killzone Shadow Fall takes place 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. In a world divided between the Helghast and the Vektans, separated by an imposing wall, you play as a Shadow Marshal charged with preserving the balance at all costs. Here is the official pitch: “Thirty years after the events of Killzone 3, the world has become a very different place, with two rival factions, the Helghast and the Vektans, living side by side in a futuristic city divided by a massive wall. At the heart of all this tension stands a Shadow Marshal, the best of the best, charged with a single mission: to preserve peace, whatever the cost.”
Graphically ambitious upon its release, the game offered open environments, a tense narrative and modern gameplay mechanics. Even in 2025, everything remains solid and fluid on PS5.
A legendary franchise that is dormant, but still cult
When it launched in 2013, Killzone Shadow Fall accompanied the release of the PS4. Despite mixed critical reception – “When Killzone: Shadow Fall released alongside the PS4 in 2013, it received mixed reviews.” – it remains an important milestone for console FPS fans.
Today, the Killzone license is on pause, which gives this promotion a particular flavor: it could well be the final opportunity to (re)live the Killzone experience in the best conditions, at a very low price.
