In the era of digital blockbusters, certain works stand the test of time as cinema classics. This is the case ofInsidea critically acclaimed puzzle platform game, now available on the PlayStation Store for only €1.99 until January 8, 2026. A bargain for those who have never tried it, or who want to rediscover it on PS4, PS5 or PS5 Pro.
Released in 2016, the title from Danish studio Playdead was already distinguished at the time by its minimalist aesthetic, its heavy atmosphere and its narration without dialogue. Ten years later, it remains impressively fresh. “Inside is currently priced at $1.99 on the PlayStation Store.” A 90% reduction rarely applied to the studio’s games.
Inside: the spiritual successor to Limbo, only better
If the name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because Inside is the spiritual sequel to Limbofirst success from the Playdead studio. Same dark silhouette, same oppressive atmosphere, but a much more accomplished execution, both visually and mechanically. “Inside is Limbo, but better”.
It’s all in the staging. Each step in this silent world seems full of meaning. The player is left to his own devices, without explanation, and must progress in a universe where danger constantly lurks. Few games know how to build such tension with so few resources.
A cult game still impressive
In 2016, Inside had won numerous awards: Best Artistic Direction, Best Independent Game, and nominations for screenplay and sound design. It even had a score of 93 on Metacritic, tied with Uncharted 4. This score still stands today, and few titles have received so much critical praise.
The other strength of the game lies in its longevity: in two or three hours, the experience is complete, striking and above all replayable. A perfect format for players short on time, or for an intense evening between tension and reflection.
Limited offer: don’t miss this opportunity
PlayStation Store offer ends January 8. In addition to Inside at €1.99, the studio also offers Limbo at €0.99. It is extremely rare for both titles to be offered at such a low price. “None of these games have ever been offered at such a low price on the PlayStation Store, and that is unlikely to ever change.”
PS4 and PS5 compatible, Inside runs smoothly on the latest consoles, thanks to backwards compatibility. Even without a “next generation” patch, the game has aged perfectly. If you missed this gem when it came out, now is probably the best time to discover it… or rediscover it.
