PS Plus: The leak of the first March game is a big disappointment

A new month is approaching for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and the atmosphere is not exactly celebratory. A few days before the official announcement scheduled for February 25, 2026, a reliable leak already reveals one of the free PS Plus games for March 2026. And suffice to say that it is not unanimous. According to information published on February 23, 2026, the famous leaker Billbil-kun claims that PGA Tour 2K25 will be offered to subscribers from March 3 until April 7. An announcement which comes as Sony must formalize the complete selection in the coming days.

PGA Tour 2K25 would be the PS Plus Essential game for March 2026

According to the leak, PGA Tour 2K25 will join PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscriptions starting March 3. Subscribers will be able to claim it alongside at least two other as-yet-unnamed games. The problem doesn’t necessarily come from the quality of the game. PGA Tour 2K25 remains a solid golf simulation. Its realistic gameplay, detailed swings and multiplayer modes have been praised. On Metacritic, it has decent scores.

On the other hand, several criticisms come up regularly: invasive microtransactions, repetitive progression and some technical problems. Above all, it is aimed at a very specific audience. Those who love golf have often already purchased it. Others may never install it.

A downward trend for PS Plus Essential

In recent months, the PS Plus Essential selection has regularly disappointed. In February 2026, the flagship game was Undisputed, a decent but very focused boxing simulator. A choice which had already left some subscribers indifferent. Meanwhile, the PS Plus Extra offer has been much more generous. In February, it notably offered Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and even Neva.

The difference is clear: Extra benefits from around ten games per month, compared to only three for Essential and a one-off addition for Premium. This disparity reinforces the feeling that higher subscriptions now concentrate most of the value.

PS Plus games still available until March 3

  • Undisputed
  • Subnautica: Below Zero
  • Ultros
  • Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

Undisputed focuses on boxing simulation. Subnautica: Below Zero continues the underwater adventure of the first episode, while awaiting Subnautica 2. Ultros offers a psychedelic Metroidvania-type experience. Ace Combat 7 remains a solid reference in aerial combat.

More games confirmed for March and beyond

PGA Tour 2K25 isn’t the only information already known for March. During the last State of Play, Sony confirmed that Big Walk will arrive this year in the Essential subscription.

For its part, PS Plus Premium will welcome Tekken: Dark Resurrection, PSP version of the famous fighting game, in March. An announcement which also sparked mixed reactions among some Premium subscribers, who were hoping for more recent titles. Finally, Time Crisis has already been announced for the month of May.

The full official announcement of the March 2026 PS Plus games is expected on February 25. Subscribers will then know if this leak is confirmed and if other titles will raise the level.
