Every month, Sony renews part of its offer for Extra and Premium subscribers. Unlike the Essential level, announced at the very end of the month, these superior plans generally see their new features revealed around the third week.
This time, the news is racing even before the official communication. Leaker billbil-kun, known for the reliability of his information, claims that several major titles are on the way, including Neva, a narrative adventure game published by Devolver Digital.
Still according to this information, Neva would be accompanied by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, suggesting a selection mixing AAA productions and notable independent works.
Neva, an emotional journey through the seasons
Originally released in October 2024 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Neva is developed by the team behind GRIS. The player plays a young woman traveling through a world ravaged by darkness, accompanied by a mysterious wolf.
The adventure is structured around the four seasons, each symbolizing a stage of the story and the relationship between the two protagonists. Without superfluous dialogue, the game favors visual storytelling, expressive animations and a discreet soundtrack to convey its emotions. This approach won over critics, with Neva averaging 87%, praised for its artistic direction and sensitivity.
An assumed inspiration from Studio Ghibli
It’s hard not to notice the similarities with the Studio Ghibli universe. The natural landscapes, the strong bond between humans and animals, as well as the contemplative rhythm clearly evoke My Neighbor Totoro or The Tale of Princess Kaguya.
This artistic lineage gives Neva a unique identity in the current video game landscape. Where many productions focus on pure action, the title prefers to invite contemplation, slow exploration and progressive attachment to the characters. For players sensitive to narrative and aesthetic experiences, Neva stands out as a separate work.
When will we be able to play it for free?
If the leak is confirmed, Neva should join the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog from mid-February, probably around February 17, 2026. As usual, an active subscription will be enough to add the game to its library via the PlayStation Store, at no additional cost.
Sony is expected to make the full list official very soon, with generally around ten games split between Extra and Premium, with the latter placing more emphasis on retro.
