PlayStation: Players urged to claim their free credit while there’s still time

PlayStation users still enrolled in the Stars program have until November 2, 2026 to claim their final rewards. Launched in 2022, this loyalty system promised gifts and credits to be exchanged for purchases on the PS Store. Due to lack of massive support, Sony confirmed its closure. But be careful, there are still points to convert.

Even if the program is frozen and registrations have been stopped since May 2025, members already registered can still benefit from their advantages. It’s better not to wait until the last minute: after November 2, 2026, your remaining points will be permanently lost.

Why is PlayStation Stars closing?

At its launch, PlayStation Stars promised wonders: missions to complete, trophies to collect, digital objects to display… In practice, the program remained marginal. Little highlighted, sometimes buggy, it never really found its audience.

Despite sometimes interesting rewards, including free PS Store credit, the majority of players have not activated it or forgotten it. Sony has therefore chosen to put an end to this version of the service, while promising a “new” program to come. For the moment, no concrete details have been announced.

How to check your remaining points?

If you were registered for PlayStation Stars, you can still check your balance via the PlayStation app on mobile. Just go to:
Player Profile > PlayStation Stars > Rewards Catalog.

There you will see your points and what you can do with them.

Available rewards include:

  • credit to use on the PlayStation Store
  • digital collectibles
  • sometimes discounts or benefits for PS Plus subscribers

Once your choice is made, the exchange is immediate. And with winter sales and regular promotions, these credits can be worth a lot.

What to buy before it’s too late

Sony did not specify whether unused points would be converted automatically or simply erased. The safest thing to do is to spend them now. To do this, monitor PlayStation Store offers directly from your console or via the app.

Whether you’re a fan of big AAA games or independent gems, now is the time to make your points profitable before the curtain falls for good. And with the promotions at the start of the year, a few euros of credit can make a real difference.

A page turns for PlayStation loyalty

November 2, 2026 will mark the official end of PlayStation Stars. Digital items will be retained, but points will become unusable. While waiting for a hypothetical successor, it is better to take stock now.

This last reminder is an opportunity to recover some value before the program disappears completely. A simple spin on the PlayStation application can allow you to get a few welcome euros to start 2026 with a new game or DLC.
