The PS5 Pro version will in any case be boosted at PSSR
The console version of Crimson Desert is for the moment subscribers absent from communication at Pearl Abyss, and this two weeks before the release of the game. Since the game has a large open world which is intended to be very impressive on a technical level, the public wonders if all the promises will be well kept on consoles.
For some people, the studio would effectively hide these versions, on the assumption that they would be technically inferior to the PC version shown so far. The marketing director of Pearl Abyss, Will Powers, wanted to dot the i’s on this subject by indicating that the console version will be well shown before the release of Crimson Desert :
“ We’re not hiding anything, and I’m tired of having to repeat myself. I’ve said hundreds of times that we will reveal things before release to give players time to pre-order the game. We say it openly… Leave it to us? Thanks in advance. /rant »
However, there is not much time left for Pearl Abyss to tell us more about this version. For now, we will content ourselves with a new article published on the PS Blog from a contributor, who was also able to play the title via its PC version, but who was able to ask a few questions about the PS5 version, in particular for confirm support for the new version of the PSSR for Crimson Desert on PS5 Pro :
“ The PS5’s SSD is crucial for loading this massive world, and the developers took full advantage of the PS5 Pro’s processor’s High Frequency mode to make moving around the world as smooth as possible. Pearl Abyss also told me that the game has been optimized on PS5 using a variety of features, helping to preserve all of that detail on such a large scale, making use of Geometry Shader Oversubscription and NGG Culling to display many elements without losing detail. On PS5 Pro, the recent PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) update allows Crimson Desert to deliver 4K resolutions at high frame rates, and ray tracing makes lighting effects more realistic and natural. »
Only a few more days to wait to find out if the game will not be too cramped on PS5 and Xbox Series. Crimson Desert is expected on March 19.
