Nostalgia for fans: Cult song celebrates comeback in “Re:ZERO”

The first half of the fourth “Re:ZERO” season ended a few days ago with a special musical surprise – and director Masahiro Shinohara now explained how it came about. We summarize below.

New version of a popular song

At the end of the broadcast of Episode 77, many long-time fans probably felt a sense of nostalgia, as a familiar classic returned with the revised version of the popular ending song “Stay Alive”.

Shinohara originally wanted to use the equally popular song “STYX HELIX” as the outro, but music producer Marina Chabata, who has been working on the anime adaptation since the third season, convinced him to use “Stay Alive”.

This is how the new version was finally created with the title “Stay Alive ~Regain~”, which is again interpreted by Emilia voice actress Rie Takahashi.

The original song is one of the most popular songs in the entire franchise. He accompanied several moving key scenes in the first season and still holds a special place for many fans today.

The second part of the fourth “Re:ZERO” season will be broadcast in eight episodes from August 12, 2026. You can find a first visual under this link.
