Nintendo has sold over 10 million Switch 2s, while the first Switch exceeds 154 million sales

Only records in sight

Thanks to the new quarterly report published by Nintendo, we learn that the Switch 2 therefore sold 10.36 million copies (figures as of September 30), or 4.54 million consoles during this quarter. An impressive result, which allows Nintendo to revise its future end-of-year balance sheet upwards. Initially, the Japanese manufacturer hoped to sell 15 million Switch 2s during this fiscal year. Today, he is counting on 19 millionjudging by the pace of sales and the approaching end-of-year holidays.

Nintendo also does not forget to celebrate the success of its first Switch, exceeds 154.01 million copies sold. Naturally, that’s not many Switches sold in the quarter (only 910,000), but that’s understandable with the Switch 2 on the market. The console is now neck and neck with the Nintendo DS for the title of best-selling Nintendo console, and should win without much difficulty even with the release of the Switch 2.

Donkey Kong Bananza starts very well

As for games, we note that there are almost as many Mario Kart World than Switch 2 sold. The public flocked to this episode, which already culminated at 9.57 million copies. An incredible performance, which should not erase that of Donkey Kong Bananzawhich is also doing very well since almost a third of the Switch 2 public went to buy this title. Donkey Kong Bananza has in fact sold 3.49 million copies. A total of 20.62 million Switch 2 games have been sold.

As for Switch games, here is the updated ranking of the 10 best sellers for this quarter:

  1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe : 69.56 million
