Nintendo is offering a new wave of free rewards for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, and this time, the world of Super Mario is in the spotlight. Between iconic characters and references to Mario Kart, players only have a few days to enjoy it.
Since March 3, 2026, a new selection of icons is available through the Missions and Rewards program. These items can be redeemed for Platinum Points, but they will disappear on March 9.
Super Mario and Mario Kart icons available until March 9
The new selection includes several characters from the Super Mario franchise. Mario, Luigi, Toad and Yoshi are among the avatars offered, with different color variations. Mario Kart-inspired icons are also available, including Mario, Luigi and Baby Rosalina in their respective karts.
The announcement states: “‘Play and trade: The selection of Nintendo Switch Online icons related to Super Mario has changed. The current selection will be available until March 9.'” In addition to the characters, Nintendo has added numerous frames and backgrounds to personalize its Nintendo Switch Online avatar.
How to get these icons on Switch or Switch 2
To collect these rewardssimply open the Nintendo Switch Online app from the home screen of a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.
- 10 platinum points for an icon
- 5 platinum points for a frame
- 5 platinum points for a background
Points can be earned through the Missions tab of the app. Objectives typically involve playing certain titles online or performing specific actions on the Nintendo console or mobile app. More sets of icons will be added later this month, as is the case regularly on Nintendo Switch Online.
