A new trailer for the upcoming sequel film was released today on the official X account of the anime adaptation of “The Irregular at Magic High School” (Japanese: “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei”). You can find the video below.
Premiering in May 2026
The new film is entitled “The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc” (Japanese: “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Yotsuba Keisho-hen”) and is expected to be shown in Japanese cinemas from May 8, 2026.
The 8-bit studio is once again responsible for the production of the evening filler, with Jimmy Stone (storyboard on “TenSura”) once again directing and Muneo Nakamoto (“Sword Art Online: Alicization”) writing the script.
The theme song “YES” comes from LiSA, who, among other things, contributed the opening song to the first “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” film.
The first two seasons of the previous series as well as the first movie (“The Girl Who Summons the Stars”) are available on Blu-ray from KSM Anime in this country. The third season and spin-off are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
