The streaming service Netflix released the first teaser for the upcoming anime remake of “One Piece” today. You can find the video below.
No appointment yet
The new series entitled “THE ONE PIECE” re-implements Eiichiro Oda’s manga template and starts with the “East Blue” saga. A release date on Netflix has not yet been announced.
The video-on-demand provider captioned the first teaser, which does not contain any animated material, with the following description:
“Produced by WIT Studio, ‘THE ONE PIECE’ is a brand new anime adaptation that begins with the East Blue saga of the original manga. Independent of the TV anime series, which has been moving at full speed for over 25 years, the new series leverages the expressive possibilities of modern technology to offer a familiar yet fresh interpretation of Luffy’s adventures.
The rare footage of character designs and artwork shown in this video provides a glimpse into the world of this new anime.«
The remake is being created under the direction of director Masashi Koizuka (“Moonrise”) and assistant director Hideaki Abe (episode director on “Jujutsu Kaisen”) at WIT Studio. Taku Kishimoto (“Blue Lock”) is writing the script, while Kyouji Asano (“Attack on Titan”) is contributing the character design.
