A legendary mascot under a new banner
We are there. While a little less than two years ago, the public was starting to get wet at the idea of seeing Xbox Games Studios branded games land at PlayStation, things moved extremely quickly for its historic licenses. Forza Horizon 5 in April, Gears of War: Reloaded At the end of August, Sony’s bike expanded its games library in a way that is still difficult to understand today.
But a license such as Halo and its emblematic hero Master Chief, we are forced to sit down to measure information which, for anyone who knew the beginning of the 2000s, would have caused a real laugh. Not that we’re falling out of our chair either, given the open policy pursued by Microsoft’s gaming branch, but seeing the reality of it is something else.
SO Halo: Campaign Evolvedwhat is it exactly? Well quite simply a remake under Unreal Engine 5 of the campaign Halo: Combat Evolvedwith its share of new features.

Improved graphics, reworked cinematics, readapted handling, dubbing re-recorded by the original actors, rearranged soundtrack, in short, we are not facing a cheap remaster. And alongside a reveal trailerwe are also directly entitled to 13 minutes of gameplay in order to have a first fairly solid idea of the rendering that we should expect from this return.
New features and refinements on the program
Note also that a third trailer accompanies the others. In it, the floor is given to Brian Jarrard, community manager at Halo Studios, accompanied by Greg Hermann, Dan Gniady and Max Szlagor. The result is a sort of developer’s notebook telling a few tidbits about the project.
We learn, for example, that three new missions are planned to act as prequels. Other interventions like the one transcribed on the Xbox Wire also inform us of the adjustments linked to the progress of the plot will also be there, particularly in terms of environmental narration and additional narrative context.
The behavior of enemies will also welcome some changes, the maneuverability of the Warthog will be improved with the addition of a place at the back. New weapons from other Halo games will be integrated, such as the Energy Sword, the Combat Rifle and the Needler.
Finally, for those looking for old school sensations, you will have the pleasure of knowing that there will be two-person couch co-op in split screen, and otherwise up to four players in multiplayer. All in cross-play and cross-progression.
It’s clear that from a cross-platform perspective, this is fantastic news for the industry to welcome today. And still according to Brian Jarrad, it seems that the story between Master Chief and PlayStation is only just beginning.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will arrive in 2026 on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
