New release details were announced today on the official X account of the anime adaptation of »KAMUI: He’s Behind You« (Japanese: »Ushiro no Shoumen Kamui-san«). We summarize.
Starting in July 2026
The horror-ecchi series will premiere on July 3, 2026. A censored version is broadcast on Japanese television, while selected streaming services offer a “deregula” version with reduced image and sound censorship.
In addition, a “Full Deregula” version, which completely dispenses with image and audio censorship, will be released exclusively on the Japanese video-on-demand platform AnimeFesta. You can find a new trailer below.
The studios ZERO-G and ZG-R are responsible for producing the adaptation of the manga of the same name by Eroki, with Takumi Tsukumo (“Divergence Eve”) directing. Tomofumi Nakajou (“Pupipo!”) is writing the script, while Toshinari Yamashita (“Miss Morita is Taciturn”) is contributing the character design.
