The general public is standing still
We might have expected thatARC Raiders Or Battlefield 6 come to shake up the established order on PlayStation consoles in the United States, but that is far from being the case. Analyst Mat Piscatella shows us today that in 2025, the same 5 licenses still reign on the market, with the same ranking as in 2024, namely :
- Fortnite
- Call of Duty
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Roblox
- Minecraft

We imagine that alone Call of Duty “changes” a little to the extent that Black Ops 7 has brought a little “freshness” (yes, that’s a lot of quotes) to this ranking, even if it is undoubtedly a question of Warzone above all. On Xbox, the list is the same except for the position of certain licensessince it is Call of Duty which is the most popular at Microsoft, which seems logical with Game Pass.
A ranking which will surprise no one but which is obviously not representative of all the creativity in the industry over the last twelve months. In 2026, there is a good chance that this list will not change, with one exception: GTA 6 could replace the inexhaustible GTA 5. Provided that a new postponement is not in the pipeline.
