Rockstar Games has never hidden its excessive ambition for Grand Theft Auto VI. Scheduled for November 2026, the new installment will take place primarily in the fictional state of Leonidas, inspired by Florida. But for a large community of players, this area is only the first piece of a much larger puzzle.
The major clue? Direct inspiration from the actual map of the United States. In the game world, Leonidas is surrounded by fictional regions that clearly evoke neighboring states, such as Gloriana, an equivalent of Georgia. This detail was enough to set fire to the powder on Reddit, where speculation on future expansions of the game is racing.
Extensions to other states already considered?
On Reddit, some players go so far as to predict the imminent arrival of a major DLC, with new accessible territories. A popular thread reads: “What do you think about the theory that Rockstar will expand the GTA VI map in future expansions? Which city do you think could be the first DLC?”

This publication summarizes the growing hope that the current map is only a starting point, a pretext for exploring new places with very different characteristics. Another user states: “There are many indications that the borders of Rockstar’s next game are strategically designed for future expansions to other states in the form of downloadable content.”
If Rockstar adopts the same strategy as for GTA V, we can expect a gradual evolution of the map via massive updates or additional content.
Gloriana, the Caribbean… and the others?
At the heart of the debates, Gloriana crystallizes all expectations. Identified as a version of Georgia, this area could play a central role in the future of the game. “Gloriana is clearly a planned map expansion,” says one player. He continues: “If she’s not at the launch at all, I don’t see why they would go to the trouble of creating a new state with its own license plates if they have no plans for it.”
But others are betting on a more exotic direction. “Personally, I hope that if they expand the map after launch, they will also consider including the Caribbean. Having lots of islands to the south would be nice.” The geographical proximity of Florida to islands like the Bahamas or Cuba could indeed open the way to new maritime gameplay.
Solo or online content? Shared players
One of the most dividing points remains Rockstar’s direction between solo expansions or exclusively online content. Some express skepticism: “It’s entirely possible, yes, but there’s little chance they’ll extend it to the entire United States.” Others fear that all the effort will be focused on multiplayer, like this lucid comment: “Personally, I think they will follow the same path as for V and that they will invest all their additional resources in the online mode.”
Another player summed up the disappointment: “I hate having to expect that, because I would love a single-player expansion. But given how much money they’re getting from online, I doubt it.”
Between credible theories and passionate hopes, one thing is certain: the GTA VI map is far from having revealed all its secrets.
