GTA 6: storm, Jason, heist… the opening mission revealed

What if the chaos started before you even took out the first weapon? A few months before the release of Grand Theft Auto VIspeculation is growing around its opening mission. According to gamers, Rockstar’s next game could start with a storm – literally. And this idea is already attracting the community.

On Reddit, the discussion is launched: several fans think that GTA 6 could follow a pattern familiar to Rockstar regulars. Extreme weather, a tense start, and a character struggling to cope – this time on the roof of a suburban house.

A storm as a narrative starting point?

Since Rockstar revealed two official trailers for GTA 6players sift through each image. One scene in particular attracts attention: we see Jason, one of the protagonists, repairing the roof of his house. A detail that seems insignificant, but which could hide the starting point of the game.

“We can be almost certain that GTA 6 will start with a storm,” says a user on the r/GTA6 forum. The idea? Reproduce the recipe already used in Red Dead Redemption 2 Or GTA Vwhere the first few minutes immediately place the player in a hostile environment.

“Basically, every Rockstar game starts with extreme weather to create a frenetic setting and hook you before sending you out to explore the vast open world,” the same post adds. In a Florida-inspired setting, a tropical storm or hurricane would serve as the ideal exposition scene.

A scripted rise to power

In the second trailer, Jason is once again seen repairing his house. For several players, this confirms the idea of a prologue focused on the aftermath of the storm, a moment when the environment is still unstable, and where the action builds gradually.

“I don’t agree that ‘every’ Rockstar game starts with extreme weather, but I think it would be cool if a hurricane was a major plot point,” another fan commented. Especially since Rockstar confirmed that the trailers included gameplay sequences.

Another player is already imagining the sequel: “They could definitely use a post-hurricane setting to place the characters in an area strewn with obstacles from which they must escape while being caught in a shootout.” A dramatic scenario, followed by a slow build in tension.

Jason, Brian and a first robbery?

Beyond the setting, some fans see this introduction as an opportunity to introduce other key characters, like Brian, who could task Jason with secondary tasks before dragging him into a more ambitious coup.

“I hope there will be a spectacular build-up before a storm arrives and a heist at the height of the hurricane. It could be epic,” sums up another comment.

Of course, nothing is confirmed yet. Rockstar is keeping the exact scenario of the introduction of GTA 6. But if the series remains faithful to its traditions, the first minutes already promise to be memorable.
