GTA 6 could integrate first-person mode upon its release, the clues confirm it

Mystery still hovers over many aspects of GTA 6, but some recent visual elements are reviving players’ hopes. Several sequences in the trailer suggest that the first-person view will make a comeback in this new opus, upon its release in November 2026. “For the moment, we do not know whether Grand Theft Auto 6 will offer a first-person mode, at least when it is released.”

The integration of this mode in the series dates back to GTA 4 with limited functions. But it is above all in GTA 5 that Rockstar offered true first-person gameplay, particularly in its improved edition. “The improved edition [de GTA 5] offered a full first-person mode.” This mode had some success, although imperfect, fueling expectations for a more fluid and immersive version in GTA 6.

Subtle clues slipped into the trailer

The rumor gained momentum following an exchange on Reddit. At 0:45 in the second GTA 6 trailer, a shot shows protagonist Jason Duval driving from what strongly resembles a first-person perspective. “The trailer gives us a clue.”

Further on, another shot shows driving on the highway, seen from inside the vehicle, both hands on the steering wheel. Is this a cinematic montage or a real game mode? Impossible to say at the moment, but the clue seems too specific to be coincidental.

A native mode and redesigned from launch?

What excites fans the most is the possibility that this mode will this time be integrated natively, and not added after the fact as was the case for GTA 5. A user on Reddit confides: “This is one of the aspects that excites me the most.” He adds: “I’m pretty sure that for FF5’s first-person mode, they just moved the camera so that it focused on the character’s head.”

In this logic, GTA 6 would have been thought of from the start with this option: “In FF6, we can reasonably assume that they integrated the first person view from the start.” Which could result in a much smoother and more natural experience: “The rendering will be much smoother.”

An obvious immersion gain for solo and multiplayer

If this feature is confirmed, GTA 6 could mark a breakthrough in the approach to gameplay. Driving, shootouts, urban exploration: the immersion would be total. Rockstar could also take advantage of this perspective for the multiplayer mode, expected to be a major evolution of GTA Online.

For now, the publisher remains silent. “Hopefully we’ll learn more about a possible first-person mode soon.” Until then, theories multiply and fans scrutinize each image in the hope of confirming what would be one of the most requested developments in the franchise.
