According to him, if we compare the amount of content with that of other modern games, the value of the title would be much higher. “If we consider current market standards, all games combined, based on value for money, GTA should cost $800”
The streamer obviously recognizes that such a price will never be applied. His reasoning is based mainly on the scale of the game. He estimates that the campaign could already take up almost 100 hours of gameplay. To this would be added the online mode, which could extend the experience for hundreds of additional hours.
According to him, if we take all this content into account, GTA 6 could offer nearly 1,000 hours of play. He even considers that this future opus could greatly exceed recent productions. “It’s not even an opinion! What could be the real price of GTA 6
Even if these comments caused a reaction, Rockstar Games has not yet given any official indication on the price of the game. The boss of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, simply assured that the objective was to offer players excellent value for money. Today, the standard price for AAA games is around $70. However, some publishers are starting to test higher prices. Nintendo notably offered Mario Kart World for $80.
If a further increase in game prices were to occur by the end of 2026, GTA 6 could become one of the first titles affected. Several observers believe that a price of 80 dollars, or even 100 dollars, remains plausible. The game is currently expected for November 19, 2026 on consoles. Like the previous opuses in the saga, Rockstar hopes to make video game history. Since GTA 3, every main episode of the series has received a rating of 95 or higher on Metacritic.
