Ghost of Yotei rolls out a big update with major fixes, here’s what’s changing

Sucker Punch Productions has just released a new update for Ghost of Yotei on PS5. Numbered 1.101, this patch aims to correct certain problems that have appeared since the launch of the New Game + mode, recently added to the game. This feature has attracted many players looking for replayability, but has also introduced some technical inconveniences.

The patch released on December 5 focuses on four main bugs, while providing general performance and stability improvements. A seemingly minor patch, but one that should significantly improve the experience for players who have been diving into the recently unlocked content.

Issues fixed in update 1.101

Among the bugs fixed, several were directly related to New Game + mode. The most notable concerned a display bug where the bamboo hit counter could appear negative on the map. Another issue affected obtaining platinum armor dye, which was blocked for some players despite obtaining the platinum trophy via separate save files.

The patch also fixes:

  • rare blockages during specific missions,
  • malfunctions at the seller exclusive to New Game + mode.

On the technical side, the developers announce rare crash fixes and enhanced overall stability.

More ambitious updates are already planned

If this patch 1.101 focuses on bug fixes, Sucker Punch does not intend to stop there. The studio has already confirmed that larger updates are in preparation for 2026. The most anticipated is Ghost of Yotei: Legends, a cooperative mode inspired by Ghost of Tsushima, which will allow players to experience the experience together.

At the same time, the idea of downloadable content (DLC) remains on the table. Nothing has been made official yet, but the developers are not closing the door to extensions, giving hope for new missions or regions to explore.

A promising future for PS5 gamers

Ghost of Yotei continues to evolve after its release, with particular attention paid to the quality of the game over time. Sucker Punch seems to be banking on a regular schedule of technical improvements and new gameplay features.

For PS5 players, the message is clear: the game has only just begun. With the expected return of Legends mode, continued fixes and possible additions to the story, Ghost of Yotei intends to remain in the PlayStation landscape for a good while longer.
