Available on PlayStation 5, Ghost of Yōtei inaugurates a new player loyalty formula. After the end of the PlayStation Stars program, Sony now offers PlayStation Rewards, a system that allows access to physical products based on trophies obtained in certain games.
For Ghost of Yōtei, three exclusive rewards have just been released online:
- A T-shirt sold $30 / €33accessible via the gold trophy “Onryo’s Rest”
- A enameled pin has $25 / €28unlockable with the “Legendary Onryo” platinum trophy
- A collector jacket billed $150 / €169also linked to the gold trophy “Onryo’s Rest”
These items can be ordered through the PlayStation Rewards platform, with conditions that vary by region.
Delivery costs, customs and availability: what you need to know
The price displayed does not always include additional costs. There jacketfor example, is shipped from The Netherlandswhich implies import fees for some countries like the United Kingdom. According to estimates, the final cost may reach €182.80not counting any customs duties upon entry into the territory.
For t-shirts and pins, shipping costs are lower and unit purchases often escape customs. However, purchasing them together may incur additional charges depending on local import policy. It is therefore sometimes more advantageous to order in one go, despite the risk of import taxes.
In both Europe and the United States, rewards are available on separate PlayStation Rewards pages.
A logical continuation after Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Yōtei is not the first game affected by this new program. Sony had already tested the concept with Ghost of Tsushimaoffering an unlockable t-shirt and pin with the “Mono No Aware” and “Living Legend” trophies. The strategy seems clear: reward the most invested players with collectible items that are difficult to obtain otherwise.
With this new model, Sony further links the gaming pleasure to physical collectionin a logic of deserved reward which could attract part of its loyal community.
