The hecatombe continues at Funcom
Released in 2022, Metal: Hellsinger had imposed itself as a sympathetic fast-FPS which made us chase from the demon in rhythm. The title had even been entitled to a VR version and some DLCs, proof that it was perhaps not a commercial failure. However, Funcom has decided to end the adventure and closed the studio The Outsiders. The latter’s founder David Goldfarb announced the news on social networks:
“” I did not have much time to digest the news, but at The Outsiders and Funcom Stockholm, we are all affected by layoffs at Funcom and our studio, open 10 years ago, will close. Many of us had come close to death years ago when Darkborn was canceled. Thanks to the loyalty and perseverance of this team, Metal: Hellsinger was born. It will always be a highlight for me and I will be eternally grateful to have been able to achieve it, as well as the formidable team and partnerships that allowed its realization. »»
Sad news for this studio, when we thought we could see Funcom to be in great shape thanks to the exit of Dune Awakening.
