Epic Games is giving away two games this week, here’s which ones and how to get them

Epic Games is inaugurating the holiday month with a nice surprise: not one, but two free games to collect without conditions. From December 4 to 11, 2025, players can add to their library The Darkside Detective And The Jackbox Party Pack 4. Two titles radically opposed in their tone and gameplay, but both perfect for this end-of-year period.

“Epic Games is starting the holiday month in style. The first free game of December is available, and instead of a single title, a duo of two games awaits us to start the year off right,” underlines AllKeyShop. An offer that will appeal to fans of paranormal mysteries as well as those looking to spice up their evenings with friends.

The Darkside Detective: black humor point & click version

First game of the duo, The Darkside Detective offers an old-fashioned single-player adventure. You play as Francis McQueen, strange detective and head of the Darkside Division in Twin Lakes. “You take on cases that ordinary police officers refuse to handle,” we can read in the game’s presentation. Accompanied by Agent Dooley, a sidekick as clumsy as he is skeptical, you plunge into a series of absurd and supernatural investigations.

The gameplay is based on the good old point-and-click system. Search the premises, question witnesses, combine unusual objects… all in a retro, deliciously kitsch atmosphere. The writing is full of puns, geek references, and deadpan humor that hits the mark.

Jackbox Party Pack 4: the star of multiplayer parties

In total contrast, The Jackbox Party Pack 4 is a pure multiplayer game designed for split screen and smartphones. It brings together five mini-games to play locally with 3 to 16 players, perfect for an evening with family or friends.

Among the games included:

  • Fibbing 3 : a bluff quiz where you have to invent credible false answers;
  • Survive the Internet : hijack your friends’ comments to (virtually) ridicule them;
  • Monster Seeking Monster : romantic encounters between monsters;
  • Bracketeering : bet on the most absurd answers;
  • Civic Doodle : redraw public frescoes with more or less talent.

All you need is a phone to participate, and bursts of laughter are guaranteed. A must for the holidays.

Until December 11 only: how to collect them

Both games are available now on the Epic Games Store. Simply log in to your account, add the titles to your library, and they will be yours forever.

After December 11 at 5 p.m., they will no longer be free. If you missed the offer, platforms like AllKeyShop still allow you to get them at low prices. “Allkeyshop allows you to make significant savings on your video games thanks to its price comparison”, recalls the site. But nothing beats free as long as it’s there.
