Although quite a few fans were secretly hoping for a third part of the popular manga series, it has been official since March 24, 2026: “Chainsaw Man” has ended. We summarize below.
Surprising ending
After seven and a half years of running time and a total of 232 chapters, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s dark shonen manga “Chainsaw Man” is now complete. Nevertheless, the majority of fans can agree: the finale was definitely unexpected.
After an extremely captivating first part, consisting of the first 97 chapters, the second part built up a truly apocalyptic finale in the following 135 chapters, which gave the impression that at least as many more chapters would have been necessary to bring the story to a worthy conclusion.
After all, Denji still had so many things to do – like get together with the girl he loves or prove to everyone that he has changed as a person – and last but not least, of course, save the world.
Lots of open questions
But you thought wrong, numerous questions still remain unanswered. Pochita’s powers were neither explained in more detail, nor did popular characters like Kishibe, Reze or Kobeni return – and this list could easily be continued.
At the same time, this corresponds exactly to the typical style of the manga. Because “Chainsaw Man” remained unpredictable and heartbreaking until the end, but the most shocking thing is yet to come: Denji actually got a happy ending.
However, we don’t want to reveal any more and instead refer to the anime adaptation. This currently consists of a twelve-part series, which is available on demand on Crunchyroll, and a sequel film, which can be purchased digitally. A sequel that adapts the “Assassins Arc” is in the works.
