No release in 2026 either
The Game Awards have become the ideal meeting place to review games which usually remain very discreet, but this year, don’t count out a new trailer for The Witcher IV. Despite the title’s presence at last year’s ceremony, it will not show up this year, and it was the CEO of CD Projekt Red, Michał Nowakowski, who announced it on his social networks:
“ I’m thrilled to see The Witcher 4 nominated for Most Anticipated Game at The Game Awards. Thank you to everyone who has already voted: your support means a lot to us. We won’t be showcasing any new content at The Game Awards this year, but as always, we look forward to following the ceremony and celebrating this major event in the gaming industry with you. »
VGC reports for its part that following the publication of its latest report yesterday, CD Projekt Red also reaffirmed that it did not intend to release The Witcher IV in 2026:
“ As we previously reported, The Witcher 4 is in full production […] We can only confirm that the game will not be released in 2026 and otherwise we generally do not communicate on technical or design details. Nothing unusual to report regarding The Witcher 4: production continues at its own pace, in accordance with our internal schedule. That’s all we can say for now. »
Ciri should therefore not give any news for a long time. At least we can now almost be certain that the game will be present at the Game Awards 2026.
