It gives players no respite. Barely launched, Crimson Desert is already receiving major updates. The latest patch, deployed at the end of March 2026 by Pearl Abyss, confirms this sustained pace with a series of notable improvements. In the space of two weeks, the game has already received several patches, proof of particularly active monitoring.
In this new version, the developers are not just fixing bugs. They add content, adjust gameplay mechanics and optimize performance. Stated objective: to offer a smoother and richer experience, even though the game was already working correctly according to initial feedback.
Crimson Desert introduces new legendary mounts
This is undoubtedly the most notable addition of this update. Players can now access five new permanent mounts, very different from the traditional horses or creatures already available.
Among them, several impressive creatures appear: a massive polar bear, a rare deer or even a warthog with rocky tusks. These mounts are not easily accessible. They are linked to bosses or powerful creatures that players must defeat.
Once these opponents have been beaten, a system allows you to recover these mounts during the next connection. This choice reinforces the progression dimension and clearly rewards players’ investment in the most demanding fights.
Improved performance for a smoother experience
Beyond the content, this update addresses a key point for players: fluidity. Loading times have been reduced, especially when fast traveling and after an in-game death.
These optimizations concretely change the pace of the game. Transitions become less frustrating and exploration becomes more comfortable. For a game as large as Crimson Desert, this type of improvement weighs heavily on the overall experience.
In the same spirit, certain mechanics have been simplified. Cooking can now be started instantly, without manual selection of ingredients. Camping items have also been reorganized to be more easily accessible.
Gameplay and movement, adjustments that change everything
The heart of the game is not left out. Several adjustments modify the way of playing, sometimes profoundly. Movement has been reworked, particularly for mounts. It is now possible to accelerate more easily without constantly holding a key. This seemingly minor detail makes journeys much more natural.
The endurance system has also been revised, particularly for flight. Costs have been reduced, certain aerial actions consume less energy and it becomes possible to use equipment in mid-flight. At the same time, certain movement abilities have been slightly weakened to avoid imbalances. These adjustments are clearly aimed at striking a balance between freedom of movement and gameplay control.
Photo mode, interface and fixes, a complete update
Finally, the update also brings more discreet but equally useful improvements. Photo mode gains depth with a wider field of vision and more distance. A new fine control option allows you to manipulate objects with greater finesse, which improves certain in-game interactions. Bugs have also been fixed, including an issue preventing certain dodging actions.
Even the visuals have been overhauled, with some AI-generated illustrations replaced. Ultimately, this update is part of a clear logic: gradually refine each aspect of the game, without suddenly upsetting its balance.
