Call of Duty Black Ops 7 unveils Endgame, the new co-op mode that extends the adventure after the single player

Multiplayer has always been the beating heart of Call of Duty, but this year the line between campaign and multiplayer seems blurrier than ever. With Endgame, Activision offers a direct extension of the main story, accessible only after completing the 11 missions of the single-player or cooperative campaign.

An island to explore after the end credits

Endgame sends you and up to three other players to an island called Avalon. This new game area, divided into four regions of progressive difficulty, serves as a setting for secondary missions, secret objectives and free exploration inspired by open-world mechanics.

Each session begins with a preparation phase, where players choose their operator class and customize their equipment before deploying.

An experience connected to the whole game

Unifying progression is another important aspect of Endgame. The experience gained in this mode adds to that gained in the game’s other modes (campaign, classic multiplayer, Zombies), contributing to your overall profile.

This fusion encourages players to invest in all aspects of the title, reinforcing the coherence of their evolution, regardless of their playing style. Endgame thus acts as a bridge between narrative solo and traditional competitive modes.

A risky but promising bet for the franchise

This is not the first time that a Call of Duty has attempted an incursion into the open world: Modern Warfare 3 (2023) had already experimented with a similar approach, without much critical success. But with Endgame, Treyarch and Raven Software seem to want to correct the situation by offering more accomplished content and better integrated into the narrative universe.

It remains to be seen whether this new format will succeed in the long term. One thing is certain: it encourages players not to stop at the campaign, by extending the experience in an ambitious cooperative framework.
