Bungie aims far
No real sales figures are currently known for Marathon apart from the 1.2 million reported by the Alinea Analytics institute (whose estimates are sometimes accurate, but remain imprecise), thus suggesting that Bungie’s game is still far from commercial success. Now, the most important thing is not to lose all these beautiful people and to ensure that the game’s audience is loyal to it. This is why the support for the title must be exemplary, and have a long-term vision. In any case, this is the commitment that Bungie is making through a new article posted on the Marathon.
After detailing the recent improvements of the PC version regarding image resolution and framerate, the studio returns to its desire to offer Marathon a long follow-up :
“ While we’re not ready to give details yet, we have already identified minor improvements that we can deploy soon, particularly to optimize CPU performance. We are also planning longer-term changes that will improve this performance even further. Our goal is to roll out improvements over time, rather than waiting to release them all at once (even if that might make them less visible!). While we’re very proud of the work we’ve done on the overall feel of the game since Alpha, we’re taking the long view with Marathon. We look forward to delivering improvements to all aspects of the game for many years to come. Thank you for joining us on this adventure! »
A promise which, as we know, can easily be broken if the public does not follow and if attendance at the game drops in the coming weeks. Marathon is currently available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
