Blindspot, a PUBG spin-off that lasted no more than two months

Krafton’s blind spot

Announced at the very beginning of this year, PUBG: Blindspot started early access last month. It was a top-down PvP shooter, with teams of 5 people. A more tactical approach to licensing, more or less inspired by Rainbow Six Siegewhich however failed to have a quarter of the success of the latter. On Steam, the game only peaked at 3,251 people simultaneously, and the numbers quickly dropped despite fairly decent reviews.

All this was not enough to Krafton, which therefore decided to disconnect PUBG: Blindspot as soon as possible, todaynot letting it complete its early access. Sequoia Yang, part of the project team, said:

Since our last update, the team has explored many avenues to improve the gaming experience and evolve the game. However, after careful consideration, we have concluded that we are not able to maintain the desired level of quality for Early Access. Player experience is at the heart of every decision we make, and we made this decision based on that principle. »

The title will therefore only have had a few weeks to prove itself in early access before being canceled. New proof of the very uncertain market represented by the service games sector, where even a big name like PUBG difficult to gather.
