The public is present, the servers are not
Battlefield 6 is well on its way to being the biggest hit in the license. At least that’s what we can extrapolate by taking a look at the game’s first results on Steam, even though it has just been released. With a peak of 747,000 simultaneous connections on the Valve platformand which only climbs, Battlefield 6 already does 7 times better than Battlefield 2042.
All these people are good for Electronic Arts’ business, but less so for the community which now finds itself stuck in endless queueswith hundreds of thousands of people waiting for their turn. Add to this bugs which were also not anticipated by EA, as indicated on the game’s official account on Twitter:
“ We are aware of an issue preventing players from accessing the game, with some receiving an error message stating that they would need to purchase DLC or equivalent content. Stay tuned for our next updates as the team investigates this issue. Thanks for your patience ! »
And there is no doubt that this craze will not stop there. The game should still attract people throughout the weekend, and thus achieve one of the best launches of the series, at least from a commercial point of view.
Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. To find out more about the game, you can check out our full review.
