A bug in the EA application prevented players from accessing Battlefield 6 upon its release. The publisher apologizes and distributes exclusive content to make up for it.
Since its launch, Battlefield 6 attracts crowds, with more than 700,000 players connected simultaneously on Steam on day one. However, some were not even able to launch the game. The cause: a malfunction in the EA application, which wrongly indicated to users that they did not own the title, preventing them from playing.
Bonuses to compensate for EA app issues
The bug was quickly corrected by the developers: “the problem has since been corrected”. But EA decided not to stop there. As an apology, affected players will receive “12 pieces of equipment and 12 60-minute career boosters”, which will be automatically sent to their in-game mailbox this weekend.
The problem did not affect all users, but only those experiencing a failure in the EA launcher, which “informed them that they did not yet own the game and therefore could not play”.
A complete Battle Pass offered to impacted players
Beyond these bonuses, EA makes a strong move : offer free access to a complete seasonal Battle Pass. “The game will offer affected players full access to a Seasonal Battle Pass.” Those who had purchased the edition Phantom of the game are also affected, but with an exclusive variation: “those who purchased the Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6 will receive a complete Battle Pass for Season 2 for free”.
A gesture well received by the majority of players on forums and social networks, despite the initial inconveniences. While some voices remain critical of the launch bugs, many welcome EA’s proactive attitude.
