Assassin’s Creed Shadows strengthens its gameplay, two major updates approaching on PS5

From October 28, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will welcome a highly anticipated update on PS5 with explosive new gameplay features. Entitled “Parkour 2”, this technical development promises to considerably enrich the movements of assassins, barely seven months after the game’s release. And that’s not all: a new quest with an offbeat tone will arrive in November.

Ubisoft has lifted the lid on the rest of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows roadmap, confirming two content additions by the end of the year, just ahead of the game’s release on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2. The French publisher intends to maintain interest around its flagship title with new features both mechanical and narrative.

A game-changing “Parkour 2” update starting October 28

From this date, PS5 players will discover new movement actions such as air ejection, ledge capture, downhill side ejection and manual jumping from moving objects. These additions should make travel more fluid and breathe new life into urban exploration.

Another important new feature: the arrival of the “Corrupt Castles” activity. This Animus-themed feature allows you to revisit already completed castles, but infested with anomalies. Among them, the fearsome Samurai Race and exclusive reward chests. Up to five Corrupted Castles can appear on the map each season.

A wacky side quest for November

On November 25, a third quest entitled “An Enigma” will enrich the narrative dimension of the game. It adopts a lighter tone, evoking the spirit of AC Odyssey, and features old enemies from Naoe’s past in search of redemption.

For the occasion, the two heroes of the game, Naoe and Yasuke, will see their skills evolve. Naoe will be able to reproduce a spectacular version of Yasuke’s war kick, while the latter will learn to stealthily neutralize his opponents without killing them. An exchange of knowledge that could well change the habits of players.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been available since March 20, 2025 on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S, with an expected release on Switch 2 on December 2. Ubisoft is banking on this additional content to extend the immersion and renew the experience of a game already praised by critics.
