The public is there
The story is well known. A popular multiplayer game comes out, everyone rushes for it when it comes out, and the servers crash. Which is technically good news for Embark Studios in that ARC Raiders seems to attract even more people than expected.
While waiting for the first sales figures, we can see that the extraction-shooter is doing very well on Steam with a first peak of 182,000 simultaneous connections at the time of writing, just a few hours after its launch. A figure which is only growing by the minute, and which is set to be exceeded by this weekend, when everyone will be able to put their hands on it. It’s obviously much weaker than Battlefield 6, but on the scale of a new license, for a studio with smaller resources, the success is total.
There are still server issues to be resolved which could dampen the enthusiasm surrounding this good start. And the hardest part will also begin for the studio, which must now ensure that its emerging community is consolidated with exemplary support.
ARC Raiders is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
