Amine Bouhafa, from cinema to video games
At the risk of evoking the crudest cliché, music is of capital importance in a video game. An even truer observation for a studio whose DNA is particularly attached to the narrative aspect. To reinforce the atmosphere of his next game AphelionDON’T NOD called on Amine Bouhafa. The French-Tunisian composer known for his film soundtracks like The peak of the gods Or Timbuktufor which he received a César, will therefore be able to bring his talent to bring this space story to life.
We are even treated to a four-minute video during which Amine Bouhafa talks to us about his work and instruments like the Cristal Baschet, a variant of the euphone which, as the musician puts it so well, resembles “an alien instrument”.
Highlighting video game music is always appreciated, especially when it is part of a narrative dynamic. It won’t be Sandfall Interactive and Lorien Testard who say the opposite. DON’T NOD also leaves us with good news, since a physical edition ofAphelion to be distributed via Maximum Entertainment.
Aphelion is expected on PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store), PS5 and Xbox Series at a date still unknown.
