After 16 years: “Akatsuki no Yona” manga ends in a few weeks

The Japanese publisher Hakusensha announced that the manga series “Akatsuki no Yona” (English: “Yona of the Dawn”) will soon end. We summarize.

Final in December 2025

“Akatsuki no Yona” by Mizuho Kusanagi has been published in the shojo magazine “Hana to Yume” by the Hakusensha publisher since August 5, 2009, but after more than 16 years it will soon be over, because the final chapter 276 is planned for December 19, 2025.

The successful manga series has so far been summarized in 46 tank subscriptions, of which more than 15 million copies are in circulation worldwide (as of June 2024). The final 47th volume will go on sale on February 20, 2026.

The first eight volumes were also adapted into a 24-episode anime series that ran on Japanese television from October 7, 2014 to March 24, 2015. This was followed by a three-part OVA series (September 2015 to December 2016).

In this country, the work is available at TOKYOPOP, while Crunchyroll and aniverse make the anime adaptation available on demand. KSM Anime released this with German and Japanese voice acting on DVD and Blu-ray.
