The Trails/Ys machine continues to be powered
The year 2026 should once again be very rich for Falcom, thanks to the releases of Ys X: Proud Nordics next February on PC, PS5 and Switch 2 and Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter on these same platforms (in addition to the first Switch). But these are only the projects already announced and the most important, and you can imagine that the Falcom machine has many other things in store.
In this report, we see that a new game is in preparation within the studio, with a release planned for 2026Before Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter (so before fall). We don’t know what it is for the moment and if this new game will be linked to one of its emblematic series (the mention suggests not, but who knows). Toshihiro Kondo declares at 4Gamer:
“ Apart from Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, the sequel to Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter released last year, we are also planning to release a new game. The announcement will be made soon, so stay tuned! »
In the longer term, many other projects are in preparation. It’s obvious that didn’t need to be confirmed, but yes, new games Trails And Ys are well in preparation (after all, there is one announced every four morning), just like a new project Tokyo announced in March 2024. Two game ports should also see the light of day in the coming months, including one on Switch 2. In short, the year 2026 promises to be eventful for Falcom, with undoubtedly many announcements in store.
