Amazon surprised everyone by announcing that the Fallout season 2 would be available a day earlier than expected on Prime Video. Initially expected for December 17, the series arrives from Tonight, Tuesday, December 16 at 6 p.m. PTor 3 a.m. on December 17 in France.
The news was confirmed via the official account @falloutonprime, with a message tinged with post-nuclear humor: “Well, well, it looks like Christmas has come early on Sphere. The first episode of Fallout Season 2 will air on December 16 at 6 p.m. PT.”
A post-apo snow globe to celebrate the launch
To mark the occasion, Amazon transformed the famous Las Vegas Sphere into a gigantic post-apocalyptic snow globe. We see the heroes of the series — Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) — grappling with a Death’s Clawemblematic creature of the Fallout universe, which attempts to break the structure.
This spectacular visual operation is part of an ambitious marketing campaign which confirms Fallout’s place among Prime Video’s flagship series. Season 1 has also exceeded 100 million views worldwidebecoming one of the three biggest hits on the platform.
From Mojave to New Vegas: a long-awaited journey
The new season picks up immediately after the events of the premiere’s finale. We leave Los Angeles to join the wastelands of the Mojave Desertuntil the New Vegas citywell known to fans of the cult game Fallout: New Vegas developed by Obsidian.
Amazon has indicated that the series will use a “fog of war” approach to deal with the different possible endings of the game. In other words, the story will take into account the gray areas and uncertainty which are the richness of the original video game, without being locked into a single narrative canon.
One episode per week until February
Fallout Season 2 will count 8 episodesdistributed rightly one per weekevery Wednesday. The final episode is scheduled for February 4, 2026. A classic format that gives fans time to speculate, theorize… and savor.
Casting-wise, we find the three main figures, but other characters from the Fallout universe could appear. On the other hand, Todd Howard (Bethesda) has ruled out any personal appearances in the series, despite his closeness to the project. The wasteland has not finished revealing its secrets.
