Nintendo hits hard with a major update to Mario Kart World on Switch 2. Highly anticipated, version 1.4.0 transforms the gaming experience thanks to profound changes in the racing mechanics, but also in the options offered to players.
Announced without fanfare, this free update is now available for download for all owners of the game. And on social networks, the enthusiasm is immediate. “I just tested the new Mario Kart World update and I think Nintendo really outdid themselves this time.”
Completely redesigned circuits
No more long, monotonous straight lines. Several circuits, including those linking Koopa Troopa Beach to DK Spaceport, Peach Stadium and Crown City, have been reworked to add turns, technical curves and dynamic challenges.
Another important new feature: all races leading to Koopa Troopa Beach now end after two laps upon arrival on the beach, offering a more sustained pace. A development welcomed by the community, even if some remain surprised: “I don’t really know what I expected with these intermission changes, but it wasn’t like that.”
Custom items and boosted gameplay
One of the most requested features is finally appearing: customizable objects. Now, players can choose precisely which items appear in both online and offline matches, in VS Race, Balloon Battle or Coin Race modes.
Fine adjustments also spice up the action: impossibility of using two Boos simultaneously, Dash Food and coins which reappear more quickly, and Bullet Bill which now avoids certain obstacles. As a result, games are more balanced and unpredictable, to the delight of fans. “WHAT IS THIS UPDATE LOL”
A more user-friendly multiplayer mode
Another major addition: the ability to create squads with friends online. Up to 4 players can now participate in races or battles together via the same room. The integration of “Photo Mode” in time trials and the addition of restart or next solo race options reinforce the community and immersive aspect of the game.
The reactions are clear. “GUYS, MARIO KART WORLD JUST BECAME MUCH BETTER!!!” “Oh my god, this new Mario Kart World update is crazy!”
A rain of fixes that changes everything
Beyond the visible new features, update 1.4.0 fixes a long list of bugs. Issues with collisions, sliding through walls, Bullet Bill display and strange online behavior have been fixed. Every detail has been scrutinized, including item respawning and multiplayer stability.
And some players are already having fun with the new possibilities offered: “This is perhaps the most despicable thing I have done, lol”, jokes a user after having chained lightning bolts on his opponents.
Between a return to basics and well-felt innovations, this update propels Mario Kart World into a new dimension. “Goated Update.” concludes one fan, while another sums up: “Regardless, the Mario Kart World update is good.”
