GTA 6: the new gameplay leak could well delay the game further

It’s become a habit in the world of Grand Theft Auto: leaks are multiplying, and the developers at Rockstar Games have to manage an out-of-control craze. This week, a video containing animations in development of GTA 6 made the rounds on the networks. Presented as coming from a senior animator at the studio, it shows motion capture sequences: a woman getting into a truck, a bicycle, or even visible elements of Ocean View.

While some doubted the authenticity, an independent developer took to Reddit to explain the nature of these images: “The thing we saw was probably a prefab of the bike station… as they only make one with everything in place (or a few variations), and the real world only contains the reference to the prefab, which allows you to create and modify several objects at the same time.”

Players frustrated by Rockstar Games’ silence

Since the announcement of the postponement until November 19, 2026, Rockstar has been particularly discreet. A strategic decision for some, but frustrating for part of the community, which is demanding more official content. On Reddit, a user sums up the general exasperation: “Why doesn’t Rockstar give us a few screenshots per month to make us want to discover the sequel and keep the enthusiasm going?”

He himself recalls that the studio had released more than 100 images during the second trailer, which accentuates the incomprehension: “They had no trouble revealing 100 screenshots with the second trailer, but apparently, receiving a few every month is too much to ask?”

Between marketing mystery and uncontrolled leaks

The paradox is striking: Rockstar has mastered the art of teasing to perfection, but cannot stop the leaks. This double game fascinates as much as it annoys. One fan quips: “Rockstar is about to delay the game by a month for every leak released.”

Another goes further into the absurd, illustrating the power of the brand: “How do you maintain the craze? They could release this game discreetly at 3:15 a.m. on a Tuesday, exclusively on the least popular region of the PSN/Xbox Store, and it would still blow up the Internet.”

Rockstar facing unprecedented pressure

Never has a video game been as eagerly awaited as GTA 6. Every image, every detail, every animation analyzed becomes viral. In this climate, the slightest leak puts colossal pressure on the New York studio.

Developers, subject to extreme confidentiality rules, work in heavy silence. And if certain videos remain without official confirmation, they further reinforce the feeling of collective impatience, which neither a date nor a trailer is enough to appease.
