A film more surprising than Sonic 5?
With Sonic, Paramount Pictures is thinking far. The announcement comes while a fourth film, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, is already scheduled for March 19, 2027. By presenting himself as a separate film from the “Sonic universe”this 2028 project opens the door to several possibilities. We can see a story centered on a secondary character, an alternative universe, or a new adventure moving away from the main plot (and which would therefore ignore our contemporary world).
Several speculations already point to a potential spin-off around characters like Shadow the Hedgehog (the most likely hypothesis), Amy Rose or other figures from the license, but nothing has confirmed these theories at the moment. While few details have been revealed to date (we have no title, no casting, no director) the simple fact that a new film is being added to the schedule shows Paramount’s ambition to grow the franchise. After the success of the first three films (and the TV spin-off centered on Knuckles and broadcast on Paramount+), the objective could be to transform Sonic into a real “SCU” (Sonic Cinematic Universe).
As long as the quality remains there, we will not shy away from our pleasure. And you, which character do you think the film will focus on? Personally, a feature film about Big the Cat would not be a no-no, but we are aware that we are deluding ourselves…
