Giant “KPop Demon Hunters” mascot flies through New York

On November 27, 2025, the annual “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” took place again in New York, where, in addition to established anime franchises, the Netflix hit “KPop Demon Hunters” was also represented. We summarize below.

Prestigious event

One of the largest celebrations surrounding Thanksgiving in the USA is without a doubt the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” – a holiday parade organized by the renowned Macy’s department store that has been taking place annually in New York City since 1924 and is particularly known for its huge balloon figures from various film and series titles.

Recently, anime characters have increasingly found a place in this prestigious event – even if there were no new additions this year in addition to the already established franchises “Pokémon” (Pikachu and Eevee), “One Piece” (Luffy) and “Dragon Ball” (Son Goku). But a franchise that comes quite close to the anime genre and made numerous headlines this year.

Of course we’re talking about “KPop Demon Hunters”! The popular Netflix title was not only represented with an oversized balloon of the blue demon cat Derpy, but also in the person of EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, who together lend their voices to the fictional band HUNTR/X and presented their summer hit “Golden” as a live performance to the parade spectators.

You can find a video of the performance as well as numerous pictures of the balloons from “KPop Demon Hunters”, “One Piece”, “Dragon Ball” and “Pokémon” below these lines.
