Embracer still retains some licenses
Arc Games is today better known as a distributor for various projects, such as Fellowship or both games Remnantnot to mention the recent Hyper Light Breaker for whom everything did not go well. Cryptic Studios is more famous for its MMOs, with City of Heroes Or Star Trek Onlinewithout forgetting Neverwinter. All this, Embracer Group was ready to get rid of it by striking a $30 million deal with Project Golden Arc, another company founded by Arc Games veteransand financed by the Chinese company XD.
Finally, he does not get rid of everything, since Embracer intends to remain publisher of the saga Remnant via its THQ Nordic division. Not surprising since this license is quite popular, and Embracer still owns the Gunfire Games studio, which is behind the two games. Moreover, Fellowship will also remain at Embracer, and more precisely at Coffee Stainwith Arc Games as co-publisher.
In short, a costly divorce, but amicable, which will perhaps avoid certain layoffs, so as not to fall back into the group’s bad habits.
